My Very Own Land of Make Believe from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood

Since we’re going down memory lane today…let’s flash back to the trip to the Heinz Museum in Pittsburgh and our visit to the castle from the actual set of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood! As you can see, our castle coop is almost an exact replica, and so are the puppets in my collection! #mrrogersneighborhood is a huge part of why our farm looks and feels the way it does. I always wanted to visit the “Land of Make Believe”!

January 2021

On a random trip to Rural King in 2021 we steered down the aisle where they keep the baby chicks. Finally ready for them, we asked the worker how many we should get for a new starter flock…she suggested 20. So that’s what we got. The next time we went back to Rural King for some more feed and supplies, they had more types of chicks, so another 20 sounded great! Pretty soon we had 60 full size chickens in our “House” waiting for spring to be warm enough to head outside, and for their custom coop to be done!
